Simple fractions

There is a few basic forms of fractions such as a simple fraction ( known as vulgar or a common fraction ), proper and improper fractions and mixed numbers.

Simple fraction is a rational number written as ½ or ,where 1 and 2 are both integers, the denominator cannot be zero. Simple fractions can be positive and negative or they can be proper and improper.

Fractions also can be classified as either proper or improper. When the numerator and the dominator are both positive the fraction is proper if the numerator is less than the denominator, and improper otherwise. Example of proper fractions are 1/2, 5/9, and for improper: 9/4 and 3/3.
